The architecture of the temporary exhibition "Panorama of Venice" is designed in a spiral, leading from the entrance to the center of the hall, where three collectible canvas paintings are displayed. The exhibition also includes a reconstruction of the famous "Panorama" itself.

One of the most striking decisions was the choice of finishing materials for the exhibition. The shiny chrome film, rolled onto the stands, created beautiful reflections and patterns on the walls, floor, and ceiling, but at the same time, it significantly complicated the work with lighting. Historical paintings, prints, and books, which had acquired a certain significance, could get lost against such a complex and spectacular finishing material.

The second difficulty from the point of view of lighting design was the museum lighting equipment with metal halide lamps without the possibility to change the optics. The existing lamps had not only high power, but also high luminous efficiency without the possibility of dimming. Such equipment parameters were not suitable for fine work with the exhibits.

This type of exhibition practically eliminates design and the work is almost entirely based on careful adjustment of equipment on site.

In such cases, our team uses special tools and filters to control the beam and luminous flux.
Several days of productive teamwork helped to ensure the right level of illumination for the exhibits and create a special atmosphere of the city on the water. Thanks to the combination of sliding accent lighting and unusual finishing materials, caustic highlights appeared on the floor of the exhibition, reminding us not only of Venice, but also of the problem of global warming, which is causing ocean levels to rise from year to year.
