Alexandrovsky Hotel is a grand establishment located in the heart of Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia. The hotel occupies the former Detsky Mir building, constructed between 1936 and 1938 under the direction of architect L. M. Nappelbaum.

During the renovation of the hotel's architectural lighting, several considerations were taken into account. The lighting was designed to emphasize the building's style, convey its prestige, and align with the hotel's positioning. Additionally, the goal was to create a visually appealing and comfortable lighting environment for both guests and passerby. However, the primary goal was to maintain the building's image during the summer months.

The fact is that during the warmer months, the restaurant has a terrace built along the front of the building. This means that the light from the existing floodlights on the ground is partially blocked, creating an unattractive appearance of a poorly maintained structure.

However, thanks to a new lighting arrangement, the hotel now looks well-maintained and evenly illuminated throughout the year. Narrow beam fixtures highlight the wall pier of the building and small linear lights emphasize its cornice.

Window-to-window panels with inscriptions are illuminated by dimmable linear lights with oval optics and protective curtains. This arrangement eliminates stray illumination from windows and maximizes visual comfort for pedestrians. The light instrument bodies are painted in the same color as the building's exterior, making them invisible on the façade.
